Construction Foreman - Grading - Columbia, SC

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Foreman to oversee personnel on various projects in the Columbia, SC area. The Foreman will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and productivity of the construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Construction Foreman, you will be responsible for:

- Directing and guiding activities on construction projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations.

- Operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently, in accordance with regulations and company policies.

- Reading and interpreting engineered plans, and staking out project sites.

- Setting up GPS base stations and guiding GPS-equipped equipment.

- Conducting job safety analysis, toolbox talks, and safety training for the project.

- Communicating production issues and implementing plans to overcome them.

- Ensuring safe storage of heavy equipment.

- Participating in routine equipment maintenance.

- Maintaining a professional appearance and company vehicle to standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment.

- Knowledge of grading and site preparation for commercial, municipal, and other projects.

- Familiarity with site preparation surveying and layout.

- Ability to operate various heavy equipment, such as loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, and scrapers.

- Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.

- Understanding of workplace safety regulations, preferably with OSHA/MSHA training.

- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

NOTE: Candidates must have experience in heavy civil site work.
