The Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for creating, developing, testing, and creating technical documentation for hardware designs within our Life Safety organization. They will collaborate with fellow engineers to ensure alignment with our design methodology and best practices.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate closely with various engineering groups within our organization to emphasize design reuse and accelerate project completion.
• Work closely with the firmware and Mechanical engineering teams to ensure synchronization.
• Adhere to best practices for requirements and data management, schematics, layout, design for manufacturing, design for test, design for modularity, testing (including test automation), and regulatory standards.
• Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation using digital tools like Jira, Jama, and Confluence.
• Discuss and explore different approaches to solve complex technical challenges.
Electronics Verification and Testing:
• Develop and implement hardware test strategies, plans, and procedures.
• Provide support for hardware verification activities, including reviewing specifications, designs, schematics/layouts, integration tests, environmental testing, ad hoc debugging, and HW/FW interface debugging.
• Collaborate with test engineers to write and execute HW tests while ensuring alignment with project objectives and quality standards.
• Observe existing processes and provide recommendations for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar engineering field
• At least 3 years of experience in electronics design.
• Must have legal eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship, now and in the future.
• This position does not offer relocation assistance. Only applicants within a 50-mile radius of Long Branch, NJ will be considered. Active-duty military personnel are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with fire alarm systems, emergency communication devices, and related protocols is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
