SENIOR ATTORNEY – SPECIALIZING IN MEDICAL BILLING AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE
OVER 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
LOCATIONS: CHARLOTTE, RALEIGH, CHARLESTON, COLUMBIA, GREENVILLE, SPARTANBURG, ATLANTA, OR WASHINGTON, D.C.
A highly respected national law firm is currently seeking a highly qualified and driven Attorney to join their esteemed Healthcare Practice Group. This position primarily involves providing advice to healthcare clients regarding compliance with billing and reimbursement regulations, as well as addressing matters related to fraud and abuse laws.
Desired Candidate Background:
- Graduate of a prestigious law school with a strong academic background (JD).
- Must be licensed to practice law in the relevant state.
- Over 10 years of experience with clients or policymaking directly related to healthcare billing and reimbursement, including Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare.
- Extensive knowledge of federal laws concerning fraud and abuse, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and False Claims Act.
- Experience advising various healthcare organizations, including hospitals, physician groups, academic medical centers (AMCs), skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and home health agencies, on regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated expertise in structuring business relationships to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
- Experience working with private payors is considered advantageous.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on meeting Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare reimbursement requirements.
- Provide guidance on compliance with fraud and abuse laws, including structuring transactions to align with regulations established by Stark, Anti-Kickback, and the False Claims Act.
- Assist healthcare providers in navigating enrollment procedures, claims submissions, and billing compliance.
- Offer strategic insights on business relationships and transactions involving healthcare entities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address healthcare regulatory and compliance concerns.

Compensation:
The position offers a competitive salary range of $250,000 to $400,000, dependent on experience. Performance-based discretionary bonuses may also be available.
