Healthcare Technology Manager / Biomedical Acct Manager

The Medical Technology Coordinator is responsible for managing the Biomedical Services department at a healthcare facility in San Luis Obispo, CA. This position serves as the main point of contact for hospital leadership in relation to the Medical Equipment Maintenance Program. The coordinator oversees the selection, procurement, delivery, and servicing of biomedical equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines from TJC, DNV, and other agencies. Additionally, the coordinator actively participates in inter-hospital committees and contributes to various areas such as life safety, environment of care, capital acquisition, and budgeting. This role plays a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction and achieving performance targets.

As the Medical Technology Coordinator, you will lead and oversee the operations of the Biomedical Services department. You will manage a team of up to 10 service technicians while delivering a high-quality and cost-effective Biomed program that exceeds customer expectations. A valid US driver's license is required, and you must be eligible to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.

Your main responsibilities will include implementing a proactive medical equipment maintenance service program aimed at reducing annual costs, maximizing equipment uptime, and providing exceptional customer service. You will also contribute to technology assessment, forecasting medical equipment replacement needs, and managing capital equipment purchasing. Additionally, you will serve as a technical advisor on medical device purchases, safety-related issues, regulatory requirements, Joint Commission Standards for the Environment of Care (EOC), and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. Supporting staff development and mentoring will also be an important part of your role. Strong communication skills and experience in managing P&L are required.

Education/Special Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree or DOD equivalent training
  • Bachelor's degree or higher education related to the job description (preferred)
  • CBET, CHTM, or similar certification (preferred)
A valid US driver's license, clean driving record, and successful completion of a criminal background and drug screening are mandatory requirements.
