Location: Raleigh, NC

We are a leading company specializing in Site Development, Bridge, Highway, and other Transportation Construction Projects in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine civil drawings and specifications for a diverse range of public and commercial projects.
  • Evaluate preliminary and final civil construction plans to prepare bid proposals.
  • Assess relevant municipal specifications.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs for earthwork, grading, paving, utilities, and site concrete in both private and public sector projects.
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations.
  • Perform various office tasks related to construction estimating as required.

· Compile and order bid documents.

· Familiarize oneself with the project site and scope of work.

· Conduct work quantity take-offs and accurate field measurements.

· Calculate project cost analysis based on plans, specifications, and/or field measurements.

· Acquire and analyze subcontractor quotes.

· Perform all necessary tasks for complete project bid preparation.

· Act as a liaison between the office and field teams.

· Attend pre-construction meetings with owners and general contractors.

· Prepare and maintain correspondence and documentation.

· Assist in the collection of receivables.

· Establish and maintain effective communication with customers, including Homeowners, Business Owners, Condo Associations, General Contractors, Engineers, Developers, Landscape Architects, etc.

· Analyze and understand detailed bid specifications, schematics, and drawings.

· Generate accurate estimates/packages for projects.

· Assist Operations in scheduling, job layout, and preparing change orders.

· Track the progress of multiple bids and bid results.

· Supervise and manage change orders throughout project progression.

· Oversee and manage project closeouts upon completion.

· Deliver precise and timely estimates/bid proposals to clients.

· Maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

· Communicate effectively with other departments and team members.

· Undertake local travel to review bids and inspect current conditions at job sites.

Requirements:

  • A meticulous team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with AGTEK Sitework and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and documents.
  • Adherence to guidelines and completion of project tasks within established time frames.
  • A self-motivated individual who can take direction and work independently.
  • Valid Driver’s License
