Field Equipment Technician

Columbia/Lexington, South Carolina

We are seeking a skilled Field Equipment Technician to join a successful Civil Company specializing in Dirt Work in Central South Carolina. In this role, you will perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment, both at the corporate mechanics shop and in the field.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

In this position, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles, including Dozers, Graders, Skid Steers, Loaders, Excavators, and other support equipment. Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, and John Deere equipment is strongly preferred. Safety and efficiency are paramount in this role.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE NEEDS THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, specializing in repairs and maintenance of heavy construction equipment

· Responsible for requesting and ordering parts as needed

· Ability to work both on-site and in the field at job sites

· Perform necessary repairs to systems such as engines, transmissions, final drives, brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems

· Record and report usage of all components, parts, and resources on daily paperwork

· Possess a valid SC Driver's License and a clean driving record

· Ability to operate equipment safely and responsibly, following manufacturer's recommendations

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
