Position Summary:
A skilled professional responsible for providing physical therapy services to patients as prescribed by the attending physician. This role operates under the direction (but not on-site) supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Treat patients to alleviate pain and/or enhance or revive function in order to achieve the highest level of independence possible.
- Educate patients and their families on transfer techniques, home exercise programs, daily activities, and the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.
- Record clinical progress notes on the day of the visit for inclusion in the patient's permanent record.
- Engage in joint visits with the assigned Physical Therapist initially, and maintain regular communication for guidance on changes in the patient's program.
- Maintain regular communication with the case manager and other healthcare professionals involved in the case.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited program for Physical Therapist Assistants.
- Licensed and currently registered with the New York State Education Department.
- Minimum of one year practical experience as a licensed physical therapist assistant.
