Human Resource Director (Food Manufacturing)

 

Essential Functions – Human Resources Director

Must have experience in manufacturing, union avoidance, and managing HR across multiple sites.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on key areas including staffing plans, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training and development, labor relations, and organizational design.

  • Lead the development and execution of HR initiatives that align with and support the company’s operational objectives.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop HR team members to ensure high performance and continuous growth.

  • Partner with both local and corporate leadership to manage employee lifecycle activities, including hiring, promotions, demotions, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.

  • Analyze and monitor key HR metrics to assess workforce trends. Identify challenges and implement solutions aligned with business goals.

  • Ensure compliance and provide oversight for Affirmative Action Programs, including implementation and ongoing monitoring.

  • Oversee and coordinate HR functions across multiple facilities, contributing to the development of department goals, systems, and objectives.

  • Administer and regularly update compensation programs; revise job descriptions and manage performance evaluation systems as needed.

  • Develop, maintain, and implement personnel policies and procedures. Oversee the creation and updates to the employee handbook.

  • Manage all internal and external training and development initiatives for the division, including curriculum design and execution.

  • Lead exempt-level recruitment efforts and ensure effective talent acquisition strategies are in place.

  • Monitor and manage career development and performance management programs across the organization.

  • Represent the HR function in administrative and strategic meetings; attend external seminars and events as required.

  • Maintain and update organization charts and reporting structures.

  • Evaluate HR activities and outcomes against departmental and company goals. Recommend and implement improvements in HR practices to enhance departmental efficiency and employee experience.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
