Human Resources Generalist – 2nd shift

The HR Generalist position in the evening shift is responsible for aligning employee and management objectives within designated business units. As a consultant to management, this role addresses human resource-related issues and acts as an advocate for employees and a catalyst for change. The HR Generalist anticipates and communicates HR-related needs to the HR department and business management, striving to develop integrated solutions and partnerships that align with the organization's goals.

Primary Job Responsibilities

· Deliver a full range of human resource services to assigned work units/areas, including but not limited to recruitment, employee development, employee relations, compensation & benefits, workforce planning, reward and recognition, and performance management. Collaborate with department leadership to assess workforce needs and develop strategies and action plans to address these needs.

· Provide consultation to managers on human resource issues, serving as the main HR contact for all related needs. Offer guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning. Develop a deep understanding of assigned departments and establish collaborative working relationships with leaders. Review and recommend updates to job descriptions as necessary. Attend business unit/department meetings as needed.

· Offer consultation to employees on human resource matters, providing guidance on benefits, policies, and procedures. Assist in resolving issues before they escalate, documenting concerns or complaints accurately and in a timely manner. Take necessary actions to resolve employee issues and escalate them to the appropriate management team if needed. Conduct focus surveys for departments and individuals when applicable. Find opportunities to build relationships with business leaders and employees in neutral settings.

· Screen and interview applicants to recommend top candidates to managers based on application, experience, interview performance, references, and tests when applicable. Plan and execute recruitment activities to attract a diverse pool of candidates aligned with the organization's objectives. Collaborate with department leadership to develop strategic action plans. Establish and nurture positive relationships with external resources to enhance recruitment efforts.

· Participate actively in delivering new hire onboarding orientation.

· Complete and process various partner-related tasks, such as transfers, fte/rate changes, work assignment updates, and licensure/education eligibility verification. Audit and follow up on mandatory education, expired licensure, and certifications.

· Conduct thorough investigations of complaints/allegations using investigation and review tools. Prepare accurate documentation and recommend appropriate action. Provide coaching and mentoring to leadership for optimal performance management. Demonstrate knowledge of company policies, general legal issues, and their implications.

· Represent the company in unemployment and EEOC hearings, consistently demonstrating strong defense in contested cases. Coordinate information with internal and external legal counsel. Understand the strengths and weaknesses of claims and develop effective defenses for the company's interests.

· Contribute to and complete special projects as assigned. Maintain an active role in the Human Resource community within the company market area. Collaboerate with HR staff and external partners as appropriate.

· Perform other duties and projects based on organizational needs, skill set, and interest.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience is required.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Preferred experience in manufacturing.

Preferred certification in one of the following:

· SHRM Certified Professionals (SHRM-CP)

· SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)

· Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) from HR Certification Institute

· Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) from HR Certification Institute
