Human Resources Generalist (HRBP)
We are seeking an HR Business Partner to work at our Spring Grove, IL location. As an HR Business Partner, you will collaborate with employees and management in designated business units to align business objectives. You will serve as a consultant to management on various human resource-related issues, acting as an employee champion and change agent. Additionally, you will assess and anticipate HR-related needs, proactively communicating these needs with the HR department and business management. Your goal will be to develop integrated solutions and partnerships across the company that deliver value-added service to management and employees, reflecting the organization's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide comprehensive human resource services to assigned work units/areas, including recruitment, employee development, employee relations, compensation & benefits, workforce planning, reward and recognition, and performance management. Collaborate with department leadership to assess workforce needs and develop strategies and action plans to address them.
· Consult with managers on human resources issues, serving as the primary HR contact. Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning. Review job descriptions and make appropriate recommendations. Attend business unit/department meetings as needed.
· Consult with employees on human resources issues, providing guidance on benefits, policies, and procedures. Assist in resolving issues before they become major concerns. Review employee complaints and ensure accurate and timely documentation. Facilitate actions to resolve employee issues and escalate if necessary. Conduct department and individual focus surveys. Build relationships by connecting with business leaders and employees in neutral situations.
· Screen and interview applicants to recommend top candidates to managers. Plan and execute recruitment activities to increase applicant pool. Develop strategic action plans in collaboration with department leadership. Identify and recruit a diverse pool of candidates. Establish and maintain positive relationships with outside resources to enhance recruitment efforts.
· Contribute to the new hire onboarding orientation process. Complete and enter process flows for recruitment partners. Confirm new hire eligibility for licensure and education. Audit mandatory education and expired licensure and certifications.
· Conduct thorough investigations of complaints and allegations. Prepare accurate documentation and recommend appropriate actions. Provide coaching and mentoring to optimize performance management. Demonstrate an understanding of company policy implications and legal issues.
· Represent the company at unemployment and EEOC hearings. Coordinate information with legal counsel. Defend company's interests based on an understanding of claims and strengths and weaknesses.
· Contribute to and complete special projects. Actively participate in the HR community. Involve other HR staff members and external partners as needed.
· Perform other duties and projects as assigned based on organizational needs, skill set, and interest.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience required.
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience in manufacturing preferred.
Certification in one of the following is preferred:
· SHRM Certified Professionals (SHRM-CP)
· SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
· Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) from HR Certification Institute
· Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) from HR Certification Institute
