Human Resources Generalist

Our client is seeking an innovative HR Coordinator to foster a workplace culture that mirrors the compassionate and inclusive spirit of our community service.

Reports to: President & CEO

Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Key Responsibilities

As the inaugural HR member, your role goes beyond fulfilling a position; it's about embarking on a mission. You will have the opportunity to shape and influence our workplace culture significantly. This is a strategic and hands-on role that will allow you to establish HR practices that foster a community of service, leading by example and inspiring others to follow suit.

The HR Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of the HR function within the organization. This includes talent acquisition, development, and management; overseeing compensation and benefits programs; handling employee relations; ensuring compliance with legal regulations; and implementing talent strategies that align with the organization's mission and vision. The position reports directly to the President & CEO and does not currently have any direct reports.

Main Duties

  • Talent Acquisition & Management: Take a strategic and compassionate approach to identify and nurture the talents required to advance our mission. We will prioritize recruiting initially due to current organizational needs.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a beacon of our values, enhancing the organizational culture through your policies and actions.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Create and implement programs that demonstrate our commitment to supporting our staff and recognizing their crucial role in our mission.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to legal requirements and report on organizational activities, aligning our operations with both moral and legal obligations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of HR experience, preferably with SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, or related field (or equivalent experience of 4 additional years).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.
  • Dedicated to service and the greater good, with the ability to inspire, lead, and mentor others.
  • Strategic thinker with the autonomy to execute hands-on HR functions.
  • Proven experience in HR with the ability to develop or enhance a positive workplace culture.
  • Strong empathetic skills to address a range of complex employee needs.
  • Independent thinker and self-starter.
