Job Title: Industrial Engineer

Location: Rochester, Minnesota

Salary: $65-80K DOE

Job Summary of the Industrial Engineer:

Identify and address product flow issues using lean principles to eliminate process bottlenecks, minimize waste, and reduce work-in-progress (WIP). Supervise and oversee a team of Industrial Engineering (IE) operators and technicians, providing clear guidance, supporting skill development, and enhancing team performance to drive continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications of Industrial Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering
  • Strong root cause analysis and practical problem-solving skills
  • Experience in collecting Industrial Services Data
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles
  • Demonstrated ability to implement throughput improvement processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a focus on critical tasks

Responsibilities of the Industrial Engineer:

  • Lead and implement lean activities such as 5S, standard work, visual management, pace to takt, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D to eliminate waste and enhance productivity
  • Drive the development of Leads, Supervisors, and Managers by actively promoting a culture of continuous improvement (CI) and operational excellence
  • Monitor and track continuous improvement activities across all functional areas, including manufacturing and office operations
  • Standardize and optimize manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and flow
  • Create detailed plans, ensure project performance, and achieve timely completion of improvement projects and savings goals
  • Design and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety measures to maximize plant and manufacturing facility utilization
  • Take ownership of equipment capital expenditures, including design, vendor selection, procurement, and implementation
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and site Leadership team to develop a continuous improvement roadmap for achieving best-in-class performance
  • Create and improve capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards
