Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Decorah, Iowa
Salary: $65-80 DOE

Job Summary of the Manufacturing Engineer: Identify and address issues related to product flow while utilizing lean principles to alleviate process bottlenecks, minimize waste, and reduce work-in-progress (WIP). Supervise and oversee a team of operators and technicians in the field of manufacturing engineering, providing clear guidance, promoting skills development, and enhancing overall team performance to support continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications of Manufacturing Engineer:
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Extensive experience of 5+ years in the field of Manufacturing Engineering.
• Proficient in root cause analysis, practical problem-solving skills, and Industrial Services Data collection.
• Strong knowledge of LEAN principles.
• Demonstrated ability to apply effective throughput improvement processes.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills.
• Highly motivated with a strong ability to prioritize critical tasks.

Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer:
• Implement and lead lean activities at the site, such as 5S, standard work, visual management, pace to takt, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D, with the aim of eliminating waste and enhancing productivity.
• Act as a catalyst for change, driving a culture of continuous improvement (CI) and operational excellence by developing facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers.
• Oversee and track continuous improvement initiatives across all functional areas, including manufacturing and office environments.
• Standardize and optimize manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and workflow.
• Create detailed plans, manage project performance, and ensure timely completion of improvement projects and savings objectives.
• Develop and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety measures to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
• Take the lead in equipment capital expenditures, from design and vendor selection to procurement and implementation.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager and site Leadership team to develop a continuous improvement roadmap that drives best-in-class performance.
• Enhance capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards for increased efficiency.
