Information Assurance Hardware Design Engineer TS/SCI w/ FS Poly

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Security Engineer with a TS/SCI w/ FS Poly clearance to join their team in Lovettsville, VA. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will work on-site in a mission-oriented environment, collaborating with multiple teams throughout the design process.
To excel in this role, the Hardware Security Engineer must have expertise in FPGA architecture, design, development, and verification for cryptographic products. They will collaborate closely with software and system engineers to conceptualize, document, design, code, verify, and lab-debug ASIC, FPGA, and embedded firmware designs for cryptographic products. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be adaptable, motivated, customer-oriented, able to lead a small team, and willing to mentor others while staying up to date with new technologies.
The successful candidate must possess an active TS/SCI Clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph and meet the following qualifications:
  • Assist with designing new and existing products and processes
  • Coordinate with other engineering personnel to ensure effective interrelated design and project completion
  • Conduct design analysis to ensure cost efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability
  • Apply FPGA place and route (P&R) tools with various libraries to create physical implementations of designs
  • Provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers
  • Perform Security Verification Testing and Certification to meet Type I Information Assurance Certification standards
  • Produce security evaluation documentation to support new ASIC and FPGA designs
  • Review VHDL code and provide security recommendations
  • Evaluate, review, and test security code
The following additional experience is highly desirable:
  • Development of NSA TYPE 1 security products using NSA IA security practices
  • Proficiency in VHDL, C/C++, Bash, Verilog, Tcl/TK, Mentor Graphics, and GitLab
  • Experience with FPGA design using Xilinx's Vivado, Microblaze Design Suite, Partial Reconfiguration, Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS), and High Speed Serdes (HSS)
For candidates at the mid-career level, a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a hardware design engineer is required, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
For senior-level candidates, a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience as a hardware design engineer is required, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
