About the Position

We are currently seeking an Outpatient IR Technologist to work in our state-of-the-art facility in White Plains, NY. Under the supervision of the Radiology Technical Manager or designee, the Outpatient IR Technologist performs various interventional special procedure imaging using X-ray, CT, and Ultrasound guidance. This role supports operational needs, maintains quality and throughput, and ensures the highest level of clinical quality and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Compliance with WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors
  2. Properly prepares and positions patients for specific examinations, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to protocols
  3. Produces quality technical images, reviewing completed scans for accuracy and completeness
  4. Assists physicians during procedures when necessary
  5. Participates in on-call rotation
  6. Performs necessary quality assurance and calibrations
  7. Adapts and responds to emergent procedures or situations
  8. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work areas
  9. Notifies Supervisor/Manager of malfunctioning equipment or failed quality control
  10. Performs routine office duties such as answering phones, documenting patient information in EMR and PACS
  11. Ensures timely completion of exams and proper communication with staff
  12. May provide instruction and precepting to other staff members
  13. Communicates professionally with patients and family members
  14. Provides age-specific care based on patient population
  15. Maintains inventory and availability of medical surgical supplies
  16. Attends staff meetings and in-services
  17. Performs other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program
  • Required: NYS DOH license, ARRT(R), previous lead or supervisory experience
  • Preferred: Advanced ARRT Certification (CT, Mammography, MRI, ARDMS, or NMTCB)
  • Must meet continuing education requirements (24 ECE credits over a two-year period)
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire
  • Completion of radiation dose pledge for Image Wisely/Image Gently through ACR
  • Demonstrates strong leadership qualities and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of two years experience in a similar role
