Inventory Specialist


Location - Channelview, TX

Major Responsibilities


  • Provide support for procurement and accounts payable functions, including vendor setup, purchase order creation, verification of purchased items, and maintaining invoice records.
  • Collect pricing information for inventory items, create inventory labels, and organize parts in their respective bin locations.
  • Receive deliveries, unpack boxes, and ensure contents match the packing slip. Date, stamp, and sign packing slips, and file purchase orders.
  • Maintain inventory control by receiving and assigning locations for inventory, creating new part numbers, tracking materials/parts usage, and conducting cycle counts.
  • Collaborate with the Administration Manager to address any inventory-related transactions, issues, or problems for monthly reporting.
  • Manage and locate all inventory items for maintenance and E&I in Maximo.
  • Set up and update inventory items in Maximo.
  • Enter purchase requisitions in Maximo and process purchase orders for inventory items, goods, and services.
  • Coordinate the unloading of large parts with site fork trucks.
  • Resolve order/invoice discrepancies with vendors.
  • Create receipts in Maximo for services purchase orders.
  • Obtain information necessary for setting up and updating vendors.
  • Remove obsolete parts from inventory and organize warehouse inventory.
  • Plan, execute, and provide final reports for 1st trimester cycle counts and year-end physical inventory events.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Manager, vendors, and other plant personnel by attending morning meetings to stay informed of plant activities.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Administrative Manager.

Education and Experience Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the assigned area.
  • 2 years of general office experience
  • 1 year of warehouse experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
  • Desire to take on additional responsibilities and ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments while meeting deadlines
