Business Partner (JD Edwards finance)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Partner (JD Edwards finance) to join our client's finance team and play a key role in driving technology-led transformation within the finance function. This position serves as a critical link between IT and Finance, focused on improving financial reporting, optimizing processes, and enhancing system utilization—particularly within JDE. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of financial acumen, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to support both day-to-day operations and long-term business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Alignment

• Collaborate closely with Finance leadership to align technology initiatives with business strategy and financial objectives
• Act as a liaison between Finance and IT, ensuring clear communication, mutual understanding, and alignment on projects and priorities

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for technology-driven enhancements in accounting and financial operations
• Improve journal entry workflows to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
• Lead automation of routine accounting tasks, including:
  • FX rate entries
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Payment runs
  • Cash receipts
  • Payroll journal entries
  • Accruals and allocations

System Optimization & Automation

• Assess and leverage underutilized controls within JDE to enhance data integrity and regulatory compliance
• Evaluate current JDE system usage and implement improvements that deliver measurable business value
• Drive automation of key financial processes related to inventory and production for improved operational efficiency

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Design and automate essential financial reports including:
  • Work order variance
  • Monthly consumed cost
  • Fixed asset reporting
• Enhance reporting for Inventory and Production by utilizing JDE, Insight, and Power BI to enable real-time visibility and actionable insights
• Collaborate with Finance and IT to develop a centralized Data Warehouse—ensuring a single, accurate source of truth for reporting

Data Visualization & Insights

• Utilize Power BI to build dynamic dashboards and segment reports that improve data accessibility for stakeholders across the business

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field
• Expert-level functional knowledge in JDE modules, including:
  • General Accounting
  • Accounts Receivable & Payable
  • Fixed Assets
  • Pricing
  • Cost Accounting
  • Manufacturing Accounting
• Proficiency in reporting tools such as Hubble and Power BI
• Proven experience working in a finance or reporting role with strong IT partnership
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of driving process improvement and automation initiatives
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively
• Solid project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
• Experience in manufacturing or inventory-driven environments preferred
• Familiarity with financial compliance standards and regulatory requirements
