Journeyman Electrician (Maintenance/Food Processing Plant)
Electrical Maintenance Journeyman (Food Processing - Maintenance)
Compensation: $60,000 – $90,000 Per Year
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Journeyman to join our client's manufacturing team. This role requires a strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems, with hands-on expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues to maintain operational efficiency and safety

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of PLCs, including ladder logic programming

Serve as an active member of the Hazmat team, maintaining compliance with all environmental and safety guidelines

Interpret and work from technical documents including blueprints, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, control panels, and industrial machinery

Demonstrate expertise in Allen-Bradley systems, including programming and fault analysis

Safely operate within electrical systems such as 480 VAC 3-phase motor controls, 120 VAC, and 24VDC circuits

Provide off-shift support, including nights, weekends, or emergency response to minimize production downtime
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Valid Journeyman Electrical/Maintenance License (State of Michigan)

Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting

Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

Skilled in using calibration and diagnostic tools such as RTD calibrators and digital multi-meters

Willingness to actively participate in the Hazmat team

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and off-hours as needed

Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and troubleshooting associated hardware/software

Familiarity with SAP, PPE systems, and basic computer skills (preferred)

Background in maintenance within food processing or similar regulated manufacturing environments

Strong understanding of 480 VAC motor controls and low-voltage systems (120 VAC, 24VDC)

Expertise in PLC troubleshooting, ladder logic interpretation, and motor control diagnostics

Strict adherence to safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
