PRIVACY & CYBERSECURITY JUNIOR ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – HEALTHCARE

Our prestigious firm, recognized as an AmLaw 100 firm, is searching for an entry-level Privacy & Cybersecurity Associate Attorney to join its renowned practice in either Silicon Valley, Santa Monica, or Washington, DC. This is an exciting position that involves providing expert guidance to technology and life sciences companies on complex privacy matters, regulatory compliance, and data security.

Candidate Profile:

• Holds a JD from a top-tier law school and has a strong academic record.

• Has obtained bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction, or is eligible to sit for/waive into the next bar exam.

• Boasts 2–4 years of valuable experience in healthcare privacy and general privacy law within a law firm or in-house legal department.

• Has a deep understanding of healthcare privacy laws, including HIPAA, CMIA, Washington My Health My Data Act, and Nevada SB 370.

• Is knowledgeable about U.S. and international privacy laws, such as CCPA, GDPR, GLBA, FCRA, COPPA, and the FTC Act.

• Has experience in drafting privacy policies, compliance documents, and data processing agreements (BAAs, DPAs, DUAs).

• Has provided advice to clients regarding privacy-related product development, conducted compliance assessments, and managed data security incidents.

• Possesses strong analytical, communication, and client management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counsel to technology and life sciences clients on privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection laws in the U.S. and internationally.

• Draft and negotiate privacy-related contracts, including data processing agreements, business associate agreements, and user consent forms.

• Assist clients in navigating healthcare privacy regulations, including compliance with human subjects research and digital health regulations.

• Counsel clients on data collection, use, disclosure, and security practices for consumer, employee, financial, and health information.

• Offer strategic guidance on incident response, breach notification, and regulatory investigations.

• Collaborate closely with corporate, M&A, and litigation teams to support compliance matters and transactions.

We offer highly competitive compensation, with salaries ranging from $235,000 to $310,000, commensurate with experience.
