KC-130 FLIGHT SIMULATOR INSTRUCTOR

Location: Pensacola, FL

KC-130 Flightsim Instructor

Compensation: $165,000 to $185,000 + Signing Bonus + Paid Relocation

**Please note that this position may require relocation to Japan

The KC-130 Flightsim Instructor will report directly to the Lead Instructor of the KC-130J program.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in conducting all aspects of flight training on the KC-130J flightsimulator, adhering to the syllabi of Fleet Replacement Detachment, Cherry Point and Fleet Squadron
  • Provide flight training on aircraft systems, operating procedures, and tactical employment of the KC-130J aircraft, including conducting briefings and debriefings of training events
  • Assist in teaching, updating, and maintaining curriculum syllabi, which includes instructor lesson guides, simulator scenarios, computer-based training, and classroom lectures
  • Evaluate and document student training/mission performance; evaluate and document the performance of trainers according to established criteria
  • Assist in testing/evaluating training devices associated with the introduction of new weapon systems or Engineering Change Proposals that impact the training system
  • Maintain mental alertness and concentration for extended periods during training scenarios
  • Handle high-stress training environments effectively
  • Maintain a professional appearance in demeanor and dress at all times
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the KC-130J Site Manager
  • This position is located in Iwakuni, Japan; applicants must be open to relocation
  • While this position does not require flying, ideal candidates will have pilot experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The KC-130J Flightsim Instructor must be or have been a Naval Air Training Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualified Basic Instructor Pilot (BIP) or have served as a simulator instructor pilot within the last five (5) years on the KC-130J aircraft
  • Must have completed at least one (1) Fleet tour
  • Must have a minimum of seven hundred and fifty (750) flying hours on the KC-130J aircraft
  • Should have been designated as an Assistant NATOPS Instructor
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience as a Weapons and Tactics Instructor or Fleet Replacement Squadron Instructor
  • Applicants must be US citizens and be eligible to obtain a US passport
  • Applicants will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a minimum SECRET clearance for access to classified information
  • Physical requirements include the ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods, climb stairs and open graded ladders for cockpit access, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be willing to relocate to Iwakuni, Japan

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • A KC-130 Flightsim Instructor must successfully complete the following:
  • NATOPS Open Book, Closed Book, and boldface exams
  • Annual renewal of NATOPS qualification under the scheduling authority
  • Annual check/standardization (STAN) flight in the KC-130J simulator (WST) and classroom-based academic instruction. STAN checks will be conducted at the Instructor/Operator Station (I/OS) during scheduled Contracted Training Time (CTT)
  • Annual training requirements in accordance with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) to facilitate required training on actual aircraft in non-flying status
  • Demonstration of Instructor-level knowledge in areas including KC-130J mission, crew procedures, aircraft maintenance procedures, aircraft passenger and cargo handling, aerial delivery procedures, tactics, night vision devices (NVD), threat systems, Fleet Replacement Pilot (FRP) syllabi, curriculum change forms, and utilization of JMPS (Joint Mission Planning System)

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with the KC-130
  • Experience assisting in teaching, updating, and maintaining curriculum
  • Minimum of seven hundred and fifty (750) flying hours on the KC-130J aircraft
  • Must have completed at least one (1) Fleet tour
  • Must have been a Naval Air Training Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualified Basic Instructor Pilot (BIP) or served as a simulator instructor pilot within the last five (5) years on the KC-130J aircraft
  • Willingness to relocate to Iwakuni, Japan
