KC-130 FLIGHT SIMULATOR TRAINER
$165,000 to $185,000 + Signing Bonus + Paid Relocation

The Flight Simulator Trainer position reports directly to the KC-130J Lead Instructor.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Proficient in providing comprehensive training sessions for KC-130J flight simulator, covering various aspects of the Fleet Replacement Detachment, Cherry Point, and Fleet Squadron syllabi
  • Training sessions will encompass aircraft systems, operational procedures, and tactical usage of the KC-130J aircraft, including thorough briefings and debriefings
  • Collaborate in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of relevant curriculum syllabi, including Instructor lesson guides, Simulator Scenarios, computer-based training, and classroom lectures
  • Evaluate and document student training and mission performance; assess and document trainer performance based on established criteria
  • Assist in testing and evaluating training devices associated with the introduction of new weapon systems or Engineering Change Proposal impacting the training system
  • Maintain mental alertness and acute concentration during extended periods of training scenarios
  • Display the ability to handle high-pressure training environments
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor and appearance at all times
  • Perform any other assigned tasks by the KC-130J Site Manager
  • This position is based in Corpus Christi, TX and does not require flying. However, pilot experience is highly desired

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The KC-130J Flight Simulator Trainer must have previously held or currently hold qualification as a Naval Air Training Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualified Basic Instructor Pilot (BIP) or have served as a simulator instructor pilot for the KC-130J within the last five (5) years
  • Must have completed at least one (1) tour in the Fleet
  • Minimum of seven hundred and fifty (750) flying hours on the KC-130J aircraft
  • Possess Assistant NATOPS Instructor designation
  • Preferably hold the position of Weapons and Tactics Instructor or Fleet Replacement Squadron Instructor
  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain a US passport
  • Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain at least a SECRET clearance
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods (4 hours), climb stairs, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to relocate to Corpus Christi, TX

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • A Flight Simulator Trainer must successfully complete:
  • NATOPS Open Book, Closed Book, and boldface exams
  • Annual renewal NATOPS qualification
  • Annual check/standardization (STAN) flight in the KC-130J simulator (WST) and in a classroom environment while providing academic instruction
  • Annual training requirements in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)
  • Demonstrated Instructor-level knowledge and understanding of KC-130J systems, procedures, and operational protocols

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with the KC-130 aircraft
  • Contribute to teaching, updating, and maintenance efforts
  • Minimum of seven hundred and fifty (750) flying hours on the KC-130J aircraft

Minimum of one (1) tour in the Fleet

  • Naval Air Training Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualified Basic Instructor Pilot (BIP)
  • Simulator instructor pilot for the KC-130J within the last five (5) years
  • Must be willing to relocate to Corpus Christi, TX
