The Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of Lab Manager/Quality Assurance Manager. In this position, you will oversee and enhance our Geotechnical & Construction Materials Testing operations. This presents an exciting opportunity for someone with a minimum of 10-15 years of practical experience in materials testing, which includes the proficiency in specialty tests such as Triaxial, Consolidation, and Permeability. Operating as a key leader within our high-volume testing laboratory, you will be responsible for managing a highly skilled team, ensuring strict adherence to industry standards, and driving continuous improvement in both quality and efficiency. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in maintaining our essential accreditations (AASHTO, CCRL, USACE), as well as ensuring the utmost accuracy in testing, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership: Supervise the daily operations of a fast-paced geotechnical and materials testing lab, ensuring precise testing and the generation of high-quality results.

Team Management: Effectively mentor and inspire a team consisting of 5-6 technicians, cultivating a culture of collaboration and high-performance that emphasizes accuracy and quality.

Enforce Quality & Compliance: Ensure rigorous adherence to AASHTO, CCRL, and USACE standards, maintaining robust quality assurance processes and certifications.

Specialty Test Oversight: Supervise the execution of advanced testing procedures, including Triaxial, Consolidation, and Permeability, ensuring the highest technical standards and flawless implementation.

Cost Management & Productivity Optimization: Skillfully manage labor costs to maximize team efficiency while upholding quality standards. Make performance and profitability improvements a focal point.

Accreditation Maintenance: Sustain full compliance with industry accreditations within the lab by coordinating audits and certifications to remain ahead of regulatory demands.

Process Enhancement: Continuously evaluate and refine lab workflows to enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors, and foster an environment of constant improvement.

Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service, technical expertise, and ensuring their satisfaction with test results and quality assurance practices.

Documentation & Reporting: Oversee the accurate and timely creation of testing reports, while maintaining up-to-date compliance with regulatory guidelines throughout all lab documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: Possess a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing, with a comprehensive understanding of advanced testing techniques such as Triaxial, Consolidation, and Permeability.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrate proven proficiency in managing and developing teams of 5 or more technicians, consistently driving quality, efficiency, and performance.

Technical Expertise: Possess an in-depth knowledge of AASHTO, CCRL, and USACE standards, along with a track record in maintaining laboratory accreditations and certifications.

Cost Management: Display solid expertise in effectively managing labor costs and optimizing productivity within a laboratory environment.

Organization & Communication Abilities: Possess exceptional organizational skills, enabling the successful handling of multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in order to effectively liaise with clients, staff, and regulatory bodies.

Commitment to Safety & Compliance: Demonstrate a proactive approach to fostering a safe, compliant, and high-performing laboratory environment.

- ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician
- ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician
- ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician Level 1
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1
- ACI Masonry Laboratory Testing Technician
- ACI Masonry Field Testing Technician
- FDOT CTQP LBR Technician
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work within an indoor laboratory setting, occasionally visiting field locations.
- Capable of lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
