Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 100 firm, is in search of a talented and driven Associate Lawyer to join their Employment Practice Group in New York City.

Candidate Profile:

  • JD degree from a top-tier law school with a distinguished academic record.
  • New York State Bar Admission is required.
  • New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut Bar admissions would be a desirable addition.
  • Experience of 2–5 years in employment-related litigation and transactional employment work.
  • Proven track record in handling wage and hour class actions, discrimination cases, and contract disputes in both federal and state court and with administrative agencies such as the Department of Labor.
  • Proficiency in drafting employment-related documents (e.g., employment and severance agreements, workplace policies, employee handbooks) and skilled in conducting federal and state employment law research as part of transactional work.
  • Awareness of traditional labor law, wage and hour audits, and employment training would be advantageous.
  • Excellent skills in legal research, writing, and analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills, proficiency in managing multiple assignments, and the ability to work with a sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in litigation matters concerning employment, including discrimination claims, wage and hour class actions, and administrative agency proceedings.
  • Review and draft employment and severance agreements, workplace policies, employee handbooks, and related documents.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws, and conduct wage and hour audits.
  • Provide assistance to clients in employment training programs and matters related to traditional labor law.
  • Offer strategic and practical advice on complex employment law issues.
