· While this position does not entail direct management, you will be expected to lead projects and potentially supervise a team in the future (if all goes well/right).

· We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can work independently with minimal guidance or supervision - the hiring manager works remotely off-site.

· Approximately 40% travel may be required annually

Our client has developed a new position within the company to support the creation of new products that will drive growth across their product portfolio.

As the Lead Innovation Packaging Engineer & Program Manager, you will oversee the development and execution of complex packaging projects involving single and multi-material solutions. This includes designing, developing, and conducting testing. You will have a leadership role in the Innovation team and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the packaging meets customer requirements, is cost-effective, and complies with regulations. Additionally, you will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest standards of quality.

Preferred Education/Work Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Packaging Science, Industrial Technology, etc.

· 8 or more years of relevant experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the field of packaging

· Demonstrated experience in leadership roles (NOTE: Direct management experience is not required. We are seeking individuals with project management, program management, and cross-functional team leadership skills.)

· Ability to work autonomously and on-site (this is not a remote/hybrid position)

· Extensive knowledge of packaging materials and manufacturing processes, as well as thermal and mechanical analysis of structures. Experience in packaging testing and analysis is crucial. Strong project management skills and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for packaging are essential.

· Ideal candidates will have experience in packaging larger products such as appliances and furniture.

· Experience with NPI processes or stage-gate project management would be an advantage
