Our client, a thriving law firm in Austin, Texas, is in search of a skilled and experienced Legal Billing Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis. If you have at least 3 years of law firm billing experience, we want to hear from you!

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and maintaining client/matter numbers, including setting up formats, special rates, and necessary billing information.
• Reviewing Engagement Letters for compliance with billing and collection guidelines, and ensuring billing system is in line with client's arrangements. Setting up attorney rates and special rates as needed.
• Overseeing trust/retainer accounts and ensuring correct application and distribution of funds.
• Preparing and distributing pre-bills to attorneys, following up on their return and reporting non-compliance to management.
• Editing and modifying pre-bills as per attorney instructions, ensuring compliance with Firm Billing Guidelines.
• Processing unbilled write off forms and managing invoice distribution to clients.
• Handling cash receipt and invoice cancellations and reapplications.
• Providing requested billing information and reports to attorneys and clients.
• Assisting with resolving billing and collections issues with conflicts and collections departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work efficiently under time constraints, individually or as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to complete tasks within deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication in person, via email, and over the phone with clients, attorneys, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Prior experience with legal accounting software, preferably Aderant.

Years of Experience:

• Self-motivated individual with 3 to 5 years of billing experience in a professional services environment.
