Litigation Associate Attorney – Professional Liability

COMMERCIAL LITIGATION ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY (PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY)

Our esteemed client, a leading law firm honored in the 2024 edition of Best Law Firms®, is in search of a highly motivated Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join their reputable team in Wilmington. This presents an exceptional prospect for an attorney to handle a wide range of cases, including professional liability defense, healthcare litigation, and mass torts.

Candidate Profile:

  • Hold a JD degree from a top-tier law school with an impressive academic background.

  • Active admission to the Bar in Delaware.

  • 2+ years of valuable experience in general commercial litigation, professional liability litigation (particularly healthcare, E&O/D&O, specialty care and senior living litigation), human trafficking, and sexual abuse litigation, mass torts, and class action.

  • Possess strong research, writing, and advocacy skills, with a capable aptitude for crafting persuasive pleadings and motions.

  • Be highly motivated and demonstrate the initiative to assume significant case responsibilities.

  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the competence to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as defense counsel for licensed professionals and institutions, including:

    • Nursing homes, treatment centers, and skilled care facilities

    • Insurance agents, brokers, lawyers, architects, and engineers

    • Professional sports teams and hospitality industry clients

  • Prepare and present motions, attend depositions, and contribute to trial preparation.

  • Oversee discovery, including documentation production and review.

  • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys on case strategy and provide client counseling.
