Job Title: Litigation Special Counsel Attorney

Locations: Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, Miami, or Tallahassee, FL

Our esteemed client, an established law firm ranked in the top AmLaw 50, is currently seeking an accomplished Litigation Special Counsel Attorney to join their Construction Practice Group in one of the following cities: Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, Miami, or Tallahassee, FL. In this full-time role, which does not lead to a partnership position, the ideal candidate will be a self-driven attorney who thrives in an independent work environment and is eager to handle a diverse range of legal matters.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Must be a graduate of a top-tier law school with a commendable academic record (JD).
• Must have an active Bar Admission in Florida, in good standing.
• Should ideally possess between 2 and 5 years of substantive experience in litigation, with a specialized focus on construction litigation, design defect claims, and insurance-related cases.
• Must exhibit exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, including experience in drafting motions and conducting discovery.
• Should have a strong background in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of insurance claims. Preferably, some trial experience.
• Previous experience in managing a team of paralegals and support staff would be advantageous.
• Must possess outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
• A proven track record in successfully settling cases is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently manage a wide range of cases, with a primary focus on construction and design defect litigation, often involving arbitration proceedings instead of circuit court.
• Conduct thorough discovery, draft substantive motions, present arguments in court, and actively participate in depositions and trials whenever required.
• Collaborate effectively with and provide support to an accomplished legal team based in Tampa.
• Demonstrate effective case management skills, ensuring efficient and strategic case progression, and maintaining a proven record of settling cases successfully.
