About the role:

  • Develop the skills and capabilities of the Logistics team leaders and technicians to achieve business goals and drive improvements in the line/area
  • Ensure that the team meets Safety, Quality, Production, and Cost targets for their line/area
  • Create and maintain department/team scorecards, reviewing them with leadership on a monthly basis. Identify gaps in performance and analyze their causes
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators for teams and communicate results regularly
  • Foster a high-performance work culture by actively engaging with team members on the floor, coaching them in problem-solving, decision making, and self-reliance
  • Apply High-Performance Organizational principles to develop leadership skills in individuals and teams
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Manager in developing and implementing the business master plan, including important technical and organizational projects
  • Address performance gaps in the line/area by implementing company Continuous Improvement methodologies and providing effective coaching. Foster a culture of zero-loss
  • Ensure that department issues are identified, traced back to their root causes, and eliminated
  • Consistently apply company policies and procedures across your teams and administer discipline when necessary
  • Oversee training and qualification programs for the designated line/area, participating in assessments, ensuring effective training, and upholding consistent qualification standards
  • Effectively communicate complex information to facilitate clear communication and expectations
  • Embrace change and obtain team buy-in for new initiatives and improvements
  • Manage time and attendance for the designated line/area, including payroll approval
  • Provide performance-based feedback to team leaders and technicians, including annual Performance Appraisals
  • Exemplify the Basic Beliefs and Our Commitment to Each Other
  • Act as a resource to the team on Supply Chain software/systems, such as WMS/Blue Yonder, IMI, and Oracle
  • Monitor and improve manufacturing variances while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure the correct functioning of peanut usage and variance systems
  • Identify and support cost-saving projects

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (any discipline)
  • 2 years of experience in logistics or manufacturing operations, and experience in leading, supervising, or managing others
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a large organization to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to effectively engage with floor-level employees
  • Decisiveness, proactive decision-making, and strategic thinking
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams across organizational boundaries
  • Self-motivation, organization, and quick learning of new skills and technologies
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support the organization effectively
  • Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed

Additional skills and experience that would contribute to success in this role:

  • Prior experience in people management within a high-performance work environment
  • Experience in food manufacturing
