Machine Repair Technician (Plastics Product Manufacturing)

MUST HAVES:

• High school diploma or GED

• Journeyman status or 7–10 years of machine repair experience in a manufacturing setting

• Hands-on expertise in:

  • Machine electrical and automation systems

  • PLC, HMI, process controls, and robotic systems

  • Hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, and welding

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and blueprint reading

• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills

• Experience with CMMS and basic Microsoft Office tools

• Ability to make sound, timely decisions with a focus on safety and continuous improvement

What You’ll Do:

• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on production and non-production equipment

• Troubleshoot and identify root causes of machine failures

• Install, calibrate, and repair machine electrical systems and automation controls

• Handle repairs related to hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and camera inspection systems

• Use tools, diagnostic techniques, and safety procedures to ensure permanent corrective actions

• Collaborate with engineers, tooling leaders, and support teams to implement process improvements

• Keep accurate documentation in work order and maintenance systems

• Participate in plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives

• Shut down and lock out unsafe equipment until properly repaired

• Manage environmental responsibilities including safe waste handling and equipment repair
