Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager (Food and Beverage Manufacturing) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, as well as the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems. These duties are performed personally or through subordinates.

The following responsibilities and duties are associated with this role:

1) Develop and schedule repair, maintenance, and installation plans to ensure uninterrupted production operations.

2) Prioritize work based on review of job orders.

3) Manage maintenance activities for utility systems, ensuring a constant supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air as needed for operations.

4) Supervise and provide guidance to workers and contractors involved in buildings and grounds maintenance.

5) Collaborate with maintenance staff to establish a preventive maintenance program.

6) Analyze production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to make informed decisions regarding maintenance activities.

7) Inspect operating machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with operational standards.

8) Develop and implement new procedures and methods to enhance operations, decrease operating costs, and optimize labor and material utilization.

9) Request the necessary tools, equipment, and supplies to support operations.

10) Facilitate training and orientation programs for workers to enhance their performance and familiarize them with company policies and procedures.

11) Collaborate with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance issues and suggest improvements for machinery and equipment conditions.

12) Prepare the department budget and monitor funds allocation.

Academic qualifications

Required

Preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

Ammonia certification

PSM certification

Work experience and skills

 

Required

Preferred

High proficiency in MS Office applications and computerized maintenance systems

 

Extensive experience in operating Anhydrous Ammonia refrigeration systems

 

Extensive experience in PSM

 

Familiarity with OSHA Regulations

 

Knowledge of lock out/Tag out procedures

 

Understanding of Waste Water procedures

 

Proficiency in PLC and Controls troubleshooting

 

Experience in predictive maintenance

 

Strong leadership and ability to work in a team environment

 

Project management experience

 

A minimum of five years of experience as a Maintenance Manager in a medium to large manufacturing setting
