We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Manager to assume responsibility for overseeing all maintenance operations at our facility. This exciting opportunity involves building, leading, and transforming the maintenance department to ensure optimal equipment performance, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe and highly efficient operation.
With a specific focus on metal fabrication, we are ideally seeking a technical leader with experience in restructuring maintenance departments and implementing advanced maintenance strategies. As our company continues its expansion, this role offers a clear path towards a Director of Engineering position.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead and Develop the Maintenance Team – Supervise 5 direct reports and manage a workforce of over 30 unionized electricians and mechanics across three shifts in a 24/7 operation
- Establish and Strengthen Maintenance Capabilities – Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance staff to create a highly competent and efficient team
- Implement Exceptional Maintenance Systems – Deploy and optimize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to enhance efficiency and enable predictive maintenance
- Maximize Equipment Uptime – Devise preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize disruptions and extend the lifespan of equipment
- Ensure Safety and Compliance – Oversee all maintenance activities in alignment with company safety policies and industry regulations
- Streamline Repair and Maintenance Strategies – Execute cost-effective maintenance plans, troubleshoot breakdowns, and drive operational improvements
- Manage Budgets and Vendor Relationships – Oversee the procurement of spare parts, tools, and equipment, negotiating with suppliers for cost-effective solutions
Requirements for the Role:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred
- 5-7+ years of leadership experience in maintenance and reliability within heavy industrial environments such as steel, CNC machining, or metal fabrication
- Proven track record of effectively managing teams in a unionized setting
- Expertise in teaching and coaching electrical and mechanical troubleshooting – PLC experience is advantageous
- Experience with CMMS implementation preferred – Strong background in optimizing maintenance systems and processes
- Strong problem-solving skills – Ability to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues
