Maintenance Planner/Scheduler
Position Summary:
The Job Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing various job functions and projects. This includes overseeing planned projects, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and providing technical support for process improvements. The Job Coordinator will also handle service contract purchasing and be responsible for contract issuance and proposals. The Job Coordinator's time will be spent on purchasing, planning, supervision, and feedback.Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and evaluate job functions related to maintenance, availability improvements, and cost of production:
A. Conduct testing and compare data to standards to identify component wear, malfunctions, and repair or replacement needs. Strive to improve equipment performance.
B. Use analysis techniques to identify potential equipment issues that could lead to outages.
C. Assist in developing preventative and scheduled maintenance activities.
D. Plan outages for mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical disciplines, as well as long term planning.
E. Evaluate equipment failures and assist with Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurrence.
F. Work closely with the Operations Manager to track service hours, starts, and other parameters to update Maintenance Inspection schedules. Update Maintenance expense projections for inspections and overhauls. Track component repairs and schedules to ensure availability of replacement or refurbished parts.

2. In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, supervise Maintenance Department personnel to maintain generating requirements, plant efficiency, and safety and environmental standards. Ensure completion of facility work orders using CMMS.
3. Assist General Manager and Maintenance Manager in developing annual maintenance budgets.
4. Manage the site CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System - Maximo). Use CMMS to schedule work, prioritize work orders, maintain inventory, and procure parts and materials.
5. Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for the maintenance team to maintain appropriate skill sets and qualifications.
6. Assist in investigating and analyzing plant problems, incidents, accidents, and unusual events. Provide recommendations and follow-up plans.
7. Conduct inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, turbine, generator, and auxiliary equipment during outages.
8. Provide technical support for preparing specifications, evaluating bid proposals, and monitoring contractor work. Oversees contractors during outages to ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures.
9. Coordinate with Corporate Engineering, maintenance and engineering firms, manufacturer representatives, and vendors to discuss field changes, equipment modifications, and exchange information. Communicate with plant personnel to resolve issues and provide technical support.
10. Manage requests for proposals, evaluate bids, and assist with awarding contracts in accordance with policies and procedures.
11. Assist the maintenance manager in managing inventory and warehouse management. Ensure reordering of warehouse items as needed.
12. Manage and update work packages and databases.
13. Manage and maintain equipment reports and databases.
Additional Requirements
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Occasional overnight travel may be required
• Must be physically able to navigate plant facilities and stairways
• Must be able to work in a standard office setting and operate computer and office equipment
• Strong time management and organization skills
• Experience with Maximo, People Soft (Advanced User Level)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word Macro Templates and technical writing course
• Experience working in a team environment
Education/Experience Required:
• Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent experience
• Must have at least 10 years of power plant or similar experience
• Must have at least 10 years of power plant or similar experience
• At least 5 years of experience supervising technical, supervisory, and administrative personnel preferred
