Maintenance Superintendent

Compensation $100,000 - $120,000 Per Year + RELOCATION Package
Our client's organization is in need of a Maintenance Manager for their Rolling Department. This department is responsible for the production of various aluminum components in the Davenport Works facility and through local suppliers. The process involves rolling, milling, conditioning, heat treating, inspecting, machining (as needed), packaging, warehousing, and shipping.
As the Maintenance Manager, you will have several key accountabilities:
  • Develop and update long-term strategies to ensure sustainability and reliability of Rolling production equipment, meeting future business requirements.
  • Lead a team of maintenance professionals and support staff.
  • Create resources to support tactical equipment maintenance and long-term improvements.
  • Enhance the behavioral competencies of direct and indirect reports through technical expertise, guidance, support, coaching, counseling, and leadership in maintenance planning activities.
Within your area of responsibility, you will set expectations, evaluate performance, provide guidance to planners, deliver training, serve as a role model, influence policies and practices, and surpass departmental goals. This includes prioritizing safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement, and employee morale, with the primary goal of ensuring customer satisfaction and responsible management of departmental resources and assets.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and monitor metrics to assess the effectiveness of the Maintenance organization within the Rolling Department.
  • Ensure integration of TPM, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities across Rolling.
  • Active participation in TPM, Kaizen, and EHS initiatives.
  • Set and review annual development and performance objectives for the department, including support for the Maintenance and Engineering Department.
  • Participate in the development and management of the department's business planning objectives tool (e.g., A3, Hoshin, etc.).
  • Set, execute, and report 30-60-90-day plans in support of the Rolling maintenance departmental A3.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Area Managers, Lead Area Managers, Maintenance Superintendents, and Maintenance Technical Leaders/General Supervisors.
  • Manage the R&M budget for the Rolling department.
Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum of eight years' experience in maintenance.
  • Minimum of three years' experience managing substantial department budgets.
  • Preferably, experience in rolling mill operations (metals or paper).
  • All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
