Maintenance Technician – 1st shift – valves hydraulics pneumatics

OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Equipment Technician to join our team. Our company holds a significant market share and offers a positive working environment. This position is based in Atlanta, GA, specifically in the southwest suburban area. We offer competitive hourly rates, a day shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, and overtime pay. As a Maintenance Technician, your main responsibilities will include maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting equipment and property on our site, with a strong emphasis on hydraulics, pneumatics, and valves. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our machines and equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (All duties and responsibilities listed below are essential job functions as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.") Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

We are specifically looking for candidates with extensive experience in valve maintenance involving hydraulics and pneumatics. This expertise is particularly important in our die cast production equipment environment.

Level I

  1. Pneumatics: Apply knowledge of pneumatics and principles of compressed air during the course of your work.
  2. Hydraulics: Identify and understand the basic components used in hydraulic circuits based on the principles of hydraulics.
  3. Plumbing: Gain an understanding of schedule ratings for pipes and fittings, as well as common plumbing fittings and orders.
  4. Electrical: Install and work with 120 and 480 volt circuits, along with other electrical tasks related to AC and DC power.

Level II

  1. Pneumatics: Troubleshoot air logic systems using schematics.
  2. Hydraulics: Explain the transmission of force and energy in a hydraulic circuit.
  3. Plumbing: Perform layout and installation of various plumbing systems, interpret isometric drawings, size pumps, and utilize plumbing codes for related tasks. Additionally, fabricate and install plumbing supports.
  4. Electrical: Read and interpret electrical schematics, troubleshoot PLC systems using a computer, install and troubleshoot electric motors and AC/DC drives, and utilize electrical test equipment for readings and testing.
  5. Welding: Perform arc welding, MIG welding, plasma cutting, and oxy-fuel cutting.

Level III

  1. Pneumatics: Install air logic controls based on prints or schematics.
  2. Hydraulics: Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits containing various components such as check valves, accumulators, cylinders, flow controls, directional control valves, and pressure control valves.
  3. Fabrication: Utilize knowledge of all fabrication equipment to successfully complete maintenance tasks.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  1. Level I - High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  1. Level II - High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  1. Level III - Technical training certificates or an Associate's Degree, six to eight years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  1. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  1. Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and communicate verbally. The employee frequently stands, walks, reaches with hands or arms, and performs tasks that involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Additionally, the employee occasionally reaches with hands/arms and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
