Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

Location: Leetsdale, PA

Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 + Bonus

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to oversee all environmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company, state, and federal regulations across all locations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a compliance calendar to support environmental permitting, regulatory activity, and Environmental Management System (EMS) implementation.
  • Oversee the operation, compliance, and reporting of the facility's Wastewater Treatment System.
  • Manage the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials, including evaluating alternative options, scheduling, recordkeeping, certifications, and training.
  • Lead ongoing sustainability efforts to achieve targeted improvements.
  • Participate in the MDI process and provide leadership in handling all environmental issues.
  • Ensure environmental compliance across all facilities and provide functional authority for environmental issues.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to meet compliance obligations, document findings, and arrange for clean-up/remediation of problem areas.
  • Handle all communication with employees regarding environmental matters.
  • Deliver training to employees on EMS, waste handling, chemical hazards, pollution prevention, and waste minimization.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs to enhance environmental performance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

In order to be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret environmental and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficiency in writing routine and non-routine reports, as well as developing presentations.
  • Capability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to make decisive and informed decisions under pressure.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time to support multiple facilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to Environmental Scientists/Specialists or other professionals within the Environmental department.

Education:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Environmental Specialist or in a similar role within a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • A 4-year degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related field is required.
