JOB SUMMARY
In charge of overseeing and guiding employees and assignments related to test stand procedures that adhere to quality, safety, and cleanliness standards, as well as meeting production requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support the Global Test Group by setting specifications and test standards.
  • Supervise and manage all test stand projects.
  • Oversee department processes, equipment, employees, safety, cleanliness, and meeting production standards.
  • Develop and adhere to the procedures, policies, and instructions of the company's Quality Management System for end-of-line testing.
  • Enhance the proficiency and capacity of the end-of-line test stand equipment, including optimizing manpower and equipment utilization.
  • Build and maintain the Test Engineering Department, including recruitment, training, accountability, and recognition of employees within the group.
  • Recommend and implement procedures to improve production techniques, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Organize activities to maximize operational efficiencies, such as reviewing equipment requirements and manpower based on production needs and line efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Resolve challenges and facilitate problem-solving teams for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Assist with quoting new programs and conducting feasibility reviews.
  • Provide leadership in Research & Development for future programs by establishing test and communication protocols.
  • Regularly update customer engineering departments on the progress of test projects and launches.
  • Provide routine status reports and updates to program management regarding test projects and launches.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support customers and company facilities.


SUPERVISORY AND LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervise up to 10 employees.
  • Fulfill supervisory responsibilities by following the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and train employees.
  • Plan, assign, improve, and oversee work tasks.
  • Evaluate employee performance.
  • Reward and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Address complaints and resolve issues.


QUALIFICATIONS

education

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master's degree preferred).

work experience

  • +4 years of leadership experience.
  • +10 years of test and development experience.
  • Working knowledge of engines, transmissions, chassis, suspension, and driveline components.
  • Experience in metal removal processes such as machining and grinding, as well as heat treating.
  • Familiarity with equipment supported by WMA or VMC.
  • Knowledge of National Instruments software LabView and test stands.

computer experience

  • Able to operate a laptop or PC computer.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software applications.
  • Ability to format memos, spreadsheets, and graphs.
