Managing Director – Internal Audit

We are currently seeking a Head of Internal Compliance to join our highly skilled team in Newport Beach, CA. This position has become available as the previous Head of Internal Compliance recently earned a promotion to a partner position. We offer a hybrid work environment, allowing remote work along with onsite service to our exceptional clients. Local travel within Newport Beach is required, and the position entails an average of two client-facing or in-office work days per week, with the remaining three days working from home.

Responsibilities

As the Head of Internal Compliance, you will lead a team of professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-value solutions in internal auditing, controls assessment, ERM, GRC, business process improvement, anti-fraud measures, and investigations.

Your role involves managing all aspects of Internal Audit Advisory services, including achieving engagement metrics, expanding services, and growing the client base.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, and a master's or MBA degree in finance, business, engineering, economics, or a related field is highly preferred.

You must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in financial external audit and/or internal audit, preferably with a Big-4 or national public accounting firm. Consideration will also be given to candidates who have spent less than three years outside of public accounting.

Certifications such as CPA, Chartered Accountant, and/or CIA/CISA are required.

You must demonstrate a successful track record in delivering internal audit advisory services to clients across diverse industries within a professional services capacity.

Strong executive presence and the ability to act as the primary point of contact on assigned engagements are essential.

You should possess the skills to generate new business by nurturing existing relationships and establishing new ones through various efforts.

Your adaptability to high-pressure and fast-paced environments is crucial, along with the ability to quickly adjust to unexpected changes in timelines, deadlines, and project scopes.

Demonstrated experience in managing staffing, client relationships, and projects on a day-to-day basis is required.

A proven record of leadership and effective management in a growing professional services organization is also important.

Pay and Benefits

Workweek: 40-50 hours
