Position: Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager - Manufacturing

Location: Danville, VA

A flourishing medium-sized manufacturing business in Danville, VA is seeking a qualified Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager.

The chosen candidate will assume responsibility for the EHS function and will play a key role in supporting internal and external manufacturing projects related to environmental, health, and safety matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create and implement comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs that align with the organization's strategic goals.

- Ensure full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to environmental, health, and safety.

- Develop and lead regular training programs focusing on environmental, health, and safety.

- Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance.

- Ensure the maintenance and management of all EHS documentation.

- Prepare and submit accident reports, investigate incidents, and propose corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

- Conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and develop strategies to mitigate them.

- Establish and maintain emergency response plans.

- Collaborate with senior management and various departments to establish EHS objectives and offer guidance on strategic initiatives.

- Ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of all safety equipment.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and best practices.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, or a relevant technical field.

- At least 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety, preferably within a manufacturing setting.

- Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is desirable.

- Proficiency in safety regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental management systems.
