Job Title: Production Engineer

Location: Dayton, NV

Salary: $80-100K with the possibility of a bonus

Job Summary for the Production Engineer: The Production Engineer will be responsible for the development and improvement of mechanical systems and components. This includes creating precise technical drawings, plans, and models using computer-aided design (CAD) software, as well as documenting and enhancing the manufacturing processes required for the production of current and future product designs.

Job Responsibilities of the Production Engineer:

  • Create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and part designs using CAD software (OnShape, Solidworks, etc).
  • Interpret technical documentation and engineering sketches to produce accurate and precise drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical design standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Transform conceptual models into practical, functional, and manufacturable product drawings.
  • Coordinate design reviews to identify and resolve potential issues related to manufacturing, assembly, and performance.
  • Thoroughly document existing manufacturing processes, including workflows, equipment, and time cycles.
  • Develop and implement improvements to existing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Design and establish new manufacturing processes for upcoming products, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.
  • Maintain processes, forms, and documentation as required by ISO 9000.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, etc.) to ensure smooth product development and implementation.
  • Apply lean methodologies to optimize processes and increase productivity.
  • Engage employees in continuous improvement initiatives and training sessions.
  • Lead trainings to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions collaboratively.

Education & Experience for the Production Engineer:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

· 3-5 years of experience in design and mechanical engineering, including product development.

· Strong preference for experience in the design and manufacturing of heavy-duty industrial products.

· Proficiency in lean manufacturing tools and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

· Experience with Syteline is a plus.
