Job Title: MES Operations Manager
Location: Boston, MA
Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled professional to take on the role of MES Operations Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) platform. As our ideal candidate, you will have extensive knowledge and experience in MES technologies and will possess the ability to drive system adoption across various teams within the organization. Your role will involve coordinating production floor operations, collaborating with technical development teams, and providing insights to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for all matters related to the MES platform, providing expert advice to optimize its usage.
- Engage with plant personnel to understand their requirements, identify and address challenges, and explore possibilities for system enhancement and training.
- Create comprehensive training materials and conduct training sessions to ensure effective utilization of the MES system.
- Oversee the rollout of new features, working closely with corporate and plant teams to ensure smooth integration.
- Align user requests with organizational goals, prioritizing system improvements and feature enhancements accordingly.
- Monitor system updates and communicate changes and enhancements to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technical teams to integrate and test new functionalities, ensuring a seamless system experience.
- Provide guidance to corporate and plant management on maximizing system capabilities to drive process and productivity improvements.
- Support and mentor manufacturing managers and leaders in the adoption of new technologies to foster ongoing development.
- Occasional travel to company facilities, averaging approximately 15-20% of the time, will be required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems is a must.
- Knowledge of ISA88 batch processing, OEE concepts, SPC control, databases, and reporting systems would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on continuous improvement, maintenance, operations, or engineering.
- Experience in project management would be a plus.
- Familiarity with Ignition by Inductive Automation MES would be beneficial. Prior experience with MES products from Aveva, Rockwell, or another SCADA vendor is also advantageous.
