Job Title: Production Control Technician
Location: Hampton, IA
Job Summary of the Production Control Technician: Manage and improve production control processes, enhance operational efficiency, minimize waste, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities of the Production Control Technician:
- Develop and update standard operational and working practices.
- Analyze production and operating reports and resolve operational and manufacturing issues to minimize costs and prevent delays.
§ Review documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
§ Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost in assigned manufacturing operations.
§ Collaborate with planning and design staff to ensure efficient production methods through product design and tooling considerations.
- Consult with management, engineering, and other staff to facilitate production processes by considering manufacturing capabilities and production schedules.
§ Utilize data analysis tools to evaluate current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, including inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and safety hazards.
§ Develop and design optimized manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
§ Implement strategies for continuous process improvement, including adopting new technologies and methodologies.
§ Provide training to manufacturing personnel on new processes and procedures, ensuring understanding and compliance with safety protocols.
§ Maintain comprehensive documentation of manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process manuals.
Education & Experience of the Production Control Technician:
§ Must possess comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and various processes, tools, and manufacturing equipment.
§ Proficiency in using personal computers, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
§ Experience with ERP/MRP applications is preferred.
§ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
