Salary: $80-110K

Job Summary of the Manufacturing Project Engineer: The Manufacturing Project Engineer is responsible for developing new production processes for existing products, creating test fixtures, and designing or purchasing equipment to ensure cost-effective and quality production. This role involves designing, redesigning, and engineering tooling, equipment, and machinery, monitoring project schedules, and providing accurate cost estimates. The Manufacturing Project Engineer is also accountable for troubleshooting machinery to optimize product quality and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications of Manufacturing Project Engineer:

· Possess expertise in areas such as material strength, manufacturing processes, OSHA standards, electrical/pneumatic controls, fluid power, and tool/fixture design and construction.

· Responsible for obtaining quotes for capital expenditures and justifying the purchase of equipment.

· Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers of manufacturing equipment.

· Responsible for developing and updating manufacturing processes and methods.

· Assist with the design of new manufacturing processes and provide input on existing ones.

· Assist with the training of personnel on operation and maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Project Engineer:

· Serve as the technical expert in areas such as automatic assembly technology, PLC integration/programming, lean principles, vision detection/programming, and value stream mapping.

· Design and supervise the installation and construction of production tools, fixtures, jigs, and workstations to improve safety, efficiency, reliability, and profitability while meeting design and material specifications.

· Manage projects to ensure they stay within budget and meet established goals.

· Monitor government requirements, such as EPA and OSHA standards, to ensure compliance in manufacturing systems and stations.

· Provide input on cost-reduction initiatives and set manufacturing standards for existing processes.

· Conduct feasibility assessments for production projects to ensure return on investment by reducing labor and material costs while maintaining product quality.

· Design and oversee the installation of equipment and systems to improve efficiency and profitability.

· Maintain manufacturing-related documentation and information, including blueprints, BOMs, routings, databases, machine programs, and APQP documentation.

· Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies/practices to improve plant efficiency and profitability.

· Program programmable controllers/machines used in manufacturing processes, such as PLCs, robots, CNC machines, and inspection equipment.

· Support the continual improvement and compliance of QMS and EMS.

· Manage projects to ensure they meet scope, budget, and schedule goals.

·Develop procedures and provide training on the operation and maintenance of newly installed or modified equipment.

· Ensure department production processes meet goals for safety, efficiency, reliability, and capability.
