Manufacturing Supervisor – Die Casting

A well-established company that holds a significant portion of the U.S. market in their manufacturing industry is seeking a Production Manager for their Die Casting operation in Peachtree City, GA. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing plant and work in a day shift schedule from Monday to Thursday with possible additional hours on Fridays. The role involves managing a team of approximately 20 people, overseeing troubleshooting of die equipment, ensuring quality control, and implementing production planning and scheduling.


As a Production Manager - Die Casting, you will be responsible for overseeing all operations within the die casting department. This includes ensuring production quality, managing employees, maintaining safety regulations, and monitoring daily production standards.


  1. Ensure compliance with safety regulations in the department.
  2. Direct and coordinate the activities of employees in the department.
  3. Resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances in coordination with management or subordinates.
  4. Participate in the hiring process, conducting interviews and making hiring decisions or recommendations.
  5. Train, counsel, and discipline employees as needed.
  6. Coordinate operations and activities with other supervisors.
  7. Inspect materials, products, or equipment within the department for defects.
  8. Manage time and attendance records using Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  9. Analyze production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  10. Maintain organization and cleanliness in the workspace.
  11. Conduct inventory controls to ensure accuracy.
  12. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences.
  13. Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to new employees or assign training to more experienced workers.
  14. Ensure operators conform to production or processing standards.

DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (In addition to the above listed duties and responsibilities, the Manufacturing Supervisor may have department-specific duties and responsibilities as noted)

Die Cast: (Reports to Plant Manager)

  1. Optimize casting cycle times, lubrication of dies, preheating of dies, and process parameters to ensure high-quality castings. Provide troubleshooting support for machinery in the department.
  2. Supervise the operation of die cast machines, trim presses, laundry system, and melting furnace.
  3. Analyze, organize, and plan production to meet customer requirements.
  4. Enter production data accurately and timely using production reports.
  5. Ensure accurate and complete timekeeping records.
  6. Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, Gemba walks, 6S audits, and layered process audits within the department.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to resolve and improve production-related issues.
  8. Document training events and ensure successful implementation within the department.


  1. Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or three to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in HPDC (zinc, aluminum, and/or equivalent). Preference is given to candidates with experience in high-pressure aluminum die casting, but other types of die casting will be considered.
  2. Three to five years of experience in troubleshooting HPDC machinery.
  3. Three to five years of experience in quality control within a die casting environment, with the ability to identify and address defects and their root causes.
  4. Proficiency in MRP/ERP software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
  5. Strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  7. Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions in various forms.
