Materials Engineer – Powdered Graphite


We are currently working with an esteemed International Manufacturer that specializes in carbon and graphite products and has achieved over $900MM in global sales. They are located near Nashville, TN, and are looking to hire a Powdered Graphite Specialist. As the Powdered Graphite Specialist, you will be responsible for developing new products, improving existing products, and enhancing their manufacturing processes. Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must be U.S. Citizens as some of the company's work involves U.S. Defense Department projects, and ITAR Rules will be applicable.
  • A minimum of a B.S. degree in either Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering is required. A M.S. degree is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Applicants should possess 5 to 7 years of experience in working with graphite or ceramic materials, as well as their associated production methods, such as isostatic pressing and/or extrusion.
  • Must have prior experience in Materials Engineering, specifically involving ceramics, carbon, graphite, and/or powdered metals.
  • Past involvement in high temperature materials processing is a must.
  • Project management skills are highly preferred.
  • Candidates should be proficient in experimental design, statistics, and data analysis, including DOE and ANOVA.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a Team Concept / Matrixed organization while also being self-motivated and requiring minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience or familiarity with Lean Six Sigma Methods / Operational Excellence would be advantageous but not essential.
Compensation Range: $90K to $100K base salary with an additional 5% bonus.
