Meat Market Manager

Our client in Solvang, CA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Meat Market Manager for a direct hire position.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the meat market displays are consistently stocked and attractively presented
• Play a key role in overseeing daily store operations
• Collaborate closely with market and seafood teams
• Promote excellent customer service and drive sales
• Innovate and implement new ideas to improve department performance
• Maintain a positive work environment and actively engage with staff and customers
• Regularly conduct store tours to address any urgent issues
• Supervise all aspects of meat product handling and storage to ensure quality and freshness
• Evaluate products to uphold company standards
• Strategically manage inventory and merchandising
• Control expenses, shrink, and waste in the department
• Demonstrate expertise in meat cutting and product knowledge
• Efficiently use hand tools with advanced knife skills
• Analyze sales data to minimize shrink through proper production output
• Make informed purchasing decisions based on detailed sales reports
• Train and develop department employees
• Comply with all health, safety, and regulatory policies and standards
• Execute company directives and promotions in collaboration with leadership

Qualifications:

• High school Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Food Safety Management certification is mandatory
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Prior retail and sales experience preferred
• Basic computer, math, and data entry skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
