Automotive Service Technician

Location: Kirkland, WA

Overview:
Our team of service technicians is responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues in automotive vehicles. We are seeking skilled technicians who can perform a variety of tasks including maintenance, repair, and modification of vehicle components according to industry standards and customer requirements.
As a technician, you will be required to read and interpret technical documents such as service manuals and engineering diagrams. You should also possess knowledge of electrical systems, testing equipment, and various tools used in the automotive industry.
This position requires random drug testing to maintain a safe working environment.
Responsibility #1: Maintenance and Repair

We expect our technicians to have intermediate knowledge of automotive assembly and testing operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing pre-assembly activities such as cleaning and lubricating parts
- Following assembly instructions and engineering diagrams to properly assemble components
- Conducting product testing and recording the results
- Performing final checks and adjustments to ensure high-quality products
- Keeping detailed assembly records
You may also be required to perform routine maintenance tasks such as disassembling and inspecting vehicle components, troubleshooting electrical issues, and replacing or repairing faulty parts.
Responsibility #2: Shop Maintenance

In addition to your technical duties, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area. This includes:
- Assisting with general clean-up
- Clocking into jobs accurately
- Demonstrating punctuality and reliability
- Maintaining a positive and professional attitude towards colleagues
Responsibility #3: Safety

We prioritize the safety of our team members. Your responsibilities include:
- Adhering to company safety rules and regulations
- Maintaining a clean and hazard-free work area
- Promptly reporting any accidents or equipment issues to your supervisor
- Monitoring equipment functionality and reporting any problems
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of automotive maintenance operations and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in basic mathematical functions
- Ability to interpret technical instructions
- Knowledge of automotive systems and specialties
- Effective communication skills in English
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
Required Experience:
- Airframe and/or Powerplant License and at least two years of experience as a General Mechanic
- Three years of related maintenance experience in an industrial, commercial, or military setting
- Two years of experience as an apprentice mechanic working on commercial vehicle components
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Note: Automotive maintenance experience is preferred but not required!
Required Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
