Mechanical Applications Engineer (Industrial Machinery Manufacturing)
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial sales applications engineering and 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Successful candidates will need to have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy communicating with customers over the phone, as the role involves handling 20-25 phone calls daily.
  • The salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 annually.
  • Applicants must be either a United States citizen or a Green Card holder.
  • This is not a remote position and requires full-time availability.

The organization utilizes industry-specific, web-based engineering software that automates the entire sales applications process. This proprietary software enables customers to input their data, receive instant quotes, proposals, and follow-ups, allowing the Sales Application Engineers to focus on delivering tailored solutions to meet customer needs. By streamlining the process, potential customers can expect quotes and proposals within fifteen minutes of providing their information. This role does not involve any travel. The primary responsibilities for the position include:
  • Handling phone calls, which will account for approximately 30% of the daily workload (averaging twenty to twenty-five calls)
  • Applying engineering expertise to understand and support the company's product range
  • Investigating customer requirements and addressing any issues or challenges
  • Utilizing the engineering software throughout the sales process
  • Providing alternative proposals to company sales professionals based on thorough analysis
  • Communicating effectively via telephone, email, and virtual platforms


Prior experience with combustion would be beneficial. To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering
  • A keen interest and proficiency in customer communication over the phone
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial sales
  • Stable work history
  • Must be a United States citizen or Green Card holder
  • Reside within a 45-minute commute of Richfield
