Heavy Equipment Mechanical Engineer (High Temperature Materials Manufacturing)

Location: Nashville, TN

Our client is a leading international manufacturer of high temperature materials. They are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team based in their Tennessee plant, conveniently located in the southwest region of Nashville. In this role, you will receive mentorship and collaborate on the setup, design, and specification of automated processing equipment. This includes wet and dry chemical transfer systems, such as piping, drainage, pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors, dust collectors, as well as heavy lifting equipment like forklifts, cranes, slinging systems, and grabbers. Additionally, you will work with automation systems that control batch process systems and equipment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree.
• Hands-on experience with process equipment for 1 to 3 years. Experience in High-Speed Robotics or Discrete Assembly Systems will not be considered.
• Entry-level mechanical engineers will be considered if they have real-world industrial experience through an Internship or CO-OP, specifically in designing and working on automated heavy machinery for manufacturing processes.
• Strong preference for experience in a process-oriented manufacturing environment, particularly with high-temperature materials like metals, ceramics, glass, and/or petrochemicals.
• Solid understanding of computer programming and software development. Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and conduct complex system tests.

Compensation:

Salary: $80,000 to $95,000 per year, plus an annual bonus of up to 5%.
