Heavy Equipment Mechanical Engineer

My client, a billion-dollar international manufacturer of high-temperature materials, is actively seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer for their Tennessee plant, located southwest of Nashville. This role offers the unique opportunity to be mentored by an experienced engineering team, focusing on the setup, design, and specification of automated processing equipment.

The role covers a wide range of complex equipment, including:

• Wet & dry chemical transfer systems

• Piping, drainage, pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors

• Dust collectors, heavy lifting equipment (forklifts, cranes, slinging systems, grabbers)

• Blowers, fans, furnaces, and more

You will also work closely with automation systems that control these batch processing systems and equipment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.

• 2–3 years of hands-on design and troubleshooting experience with heavy industrial equipment.

• Please note: Candidates with high-speed robotics or discrete assembly systems experience will not be considered.

• Experience in a process-oriented manufacturing environment, preferably in industries involving high temperatures such as metals, ceramics, glass, or petrochemicals.

• Solid understanding of computer programming and software development is essential; must be capable of understanding PLC systems.

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities and experience performing complex system tests.

• Proficiency in 3D modeling tools, such as SolidWorks, is strongly preferred.

Compensation:

• Base salary: $80,000 – $95,000

• Plus annual bonus up to 5%
