Mechanical Engineer – Prototype Development
Location: Memphis, TN 

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 + Up to 10% annual bonus based on project performance.

Must Have's:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering 

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience

• Experience with regulatory compliance

• Strong background in sheet metal and plastic component design, mechanical systems, and electrical circuit.

Strongly Preferred:

• Autodesk Inventor sheet metal design experience.
• Commercial appliance industry experience.

A leading provider of commercial dishwashing and dispensing systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Prototype Development to join their innovative team in Memphis, TN. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to next-generation product development in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement mechanical solutions for new equipment and enhancements to existing systems.

• Lead innovation projects from concept through prototyping, testing, and refinement.

• Manage project timelines and deliverables based on defined goals and briefs.

• Ensure all designs comply with industry regulations (NSF, CSA, UL, etc.).

• Provide technical support to field teams, engineers, and consultants.

• Work with regulatory inspectors to ensure uninterrupted customer operations.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation and instructional materials.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience.

• Strong background in:

  • Sheet metal fabrication

  • Plastic component design

  • Commercial water heaters and heat pumps

  • Electrical circuit design and troubleshooting

• Project management experience with the ability to meet timelines and goals.

• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling – Autodesk Inventor with sheet metal design experience preferred.

• Strong communication and technical writing skills.

Preferred Background:

• Experience in the commercial restaurant/food equipment industry.

• Prior role as a design engineer in a smaller organization, supporting:

  • Product development

  • Manufacturing operations

  • Customer support

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary: $80,000 – $110,000
